What is reCAPTCHA?
reCAPTCHA is a system for determining whether a website is being accessed by a human or a machine.
It was originally developed at Carnegie Mellon University's Pittsburgh campus in 2007, and Google bought the technology in 2009.
There are several versions of reCAPTCHA, with reCAPTCHA v3 being announced in 2018 and reCAPTCHA Enterprise in 2020.
Up to 1 million evaluations per month are available for free.
